Owner & Speech-Language Pathologist

Desiree Peña, M.A., CCC-SLP is a bilingual (Spanish/English) speech-language pathologist who is committed to evidence-based practice and to tailoring treatment to clients’ needs. She has worked in preschool, private clinic, school-based teletherapy, and home health settings. She holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the state of Maine. She earned her M.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Georgia. Prior to becoming a speech-language pathologist, she taught Spanish and English for seven years and earned a master’s in Spanish and Latin American literature from the University of Virginia.

Desiree Peña, M.A., CCC-SLP es una patóloga del habla y del lenguaje bilingüe (español e inglés) que se compromete a realizar terapia usando los avances científicos más actualizados y a ofrecer intervención individualizada para cada cliente. Ella ha trabajado en programas pre-kindergarten, clínicas privadas, teleterapia a nivel escolar, y con adultos haciendo visitas a domicilio. Ella tiene el Certificado de Competencia Clínica de la American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) y es licenciada por el estado de Maine. Hizo su máster en Ciencias y Trastornos de la Comunicación en la Universidad de Georgia. Antes de hacerse una patóloga del habla y del lenguaje, enseñó español e inglés por siete años y obtuvo una maestría en literatura peninsular y latinoamericana en la Universidad de Virginia.
